Owl City cancels select appearences with Maroon 5

Due to medical emergency, OWL CITY must cancel his previously scheduled performances supporting Maroon 5 in Toronto, ON, Detroit, MI and Canandaigua, NY.

Our sincere apologies to those who this may effect. Full refunds will be offered at the point of purchase, or at the venue up until 6:00 PM on the day of the show. See below for a full statement from Adam Young.

Hey friends,

I hope your August is off to a great start. It's hard to believe all the expired food in my fridge hasn't assembled a guerrilla military, declared war, and gone trooping through the house on a mission. I am also amazed at how the neighbor's obtuse dog can run laps around my house all day and never get tired. Perhaps I should start drinking from the garden hose too.

It pains me deeply, but I wanted to prop myself up long enough to type out a few words that may semi-eloquently explain why I've been forced to make a truly heartbreaking decision.

Right now I'm sitting on my Mom's futon in an unbelievable amount of pain. I have a kidney stone. The doc keeps telling me to pound the liquids and I keep writhing around on the floor in excruciating pain like a wuss. I'm not really getting anywhere but I'm determined to pass this rock and hit the thing so far out of the park, it'll make Mark McGwire blush with envy.

Having been in and out of the emergency room all week, adding a heavy layer of grief upon the agony, I am terribly sorry to say that I must drop out of the first three shows (Toronto, ON - Detroit, MI - Canandaigua, NY) on the Maroon 5 tour. Needless to say, the timing is an utter disaster, and although the cause of tragedy is far beyond human control, please know I am tremendously sorry for the ill-timed misfortune.

However, despite the tremendous hurdle, there is still great news...

I'll be returning to the three cancelled cities as soon as time possibly allows, and for those shows, I truly could not be more excited. Thank you so very much for your willingness to understand.

See you soon,

Adam

Owl City postpones UK and Europe tour indefinitely

We regret to inform you that due to scheduling conflicts, OWL CITY must postpone its fall tour of the UK and Europe. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause fans. Full refunds are available at the point of purchase. Stay tuned for more info on OWL CITY's return to the UK and Europe in 2011.

A message from Adam:

To My Dear Friends in the UK and Europe

Ahoy,

My parents have gone camping all week and I've been gracefully entrusted the grave responsibility of ensuring that my sweet mother's flowers are kept alive, happy and comfortable while she's away.

She obviously isn't aware of the ubiquitous fact that I RULE at watering plants.

Regardless, the gears continue to turn, the wheels continue to roll, and I'm just about half done writing the new Owl City record. I'm having such a ridiculous amount of fun in the studio, it should practically be deemed unlawful in the state of Minnesota. Inspiration is being drawn from, songs are being created, lyrics are being penned, melodies are being manufactured and drum sequences are being programmed. It's a well-oiled machine and I'm thoroughly excited to polish the album off and henceforth release a collection of shiny new songs out into the world like turning over a butterfly net full of high-spirited Monarchs.

However, there's still a lot of heavy lifting to be done and given what little time there is between now and the glorious amphibious dawn of release, it is with great dismay that I must woefully step away from the United Kingdom/European tour dates that were recently penciled into the books. My doleful, supple heart petals wilt under a searing sunburst microscope of woe. It must be made known that Ialways look forward to what wonderful adventures lie in wait across the pond, and thus, I deeply apologize from the bottom of my inner dwellings for the aforementioned dispiriting disclosure.

The GOOD NEWS is this:

I shall return posthaste to the UK/Europe with swift immediacy and in doing so, emerge from the fog in a billowing thundercloud of live concerts, a celestial tour brighter and more exuberant than ever before!

So, to put it simply:

If you live in the UK or Europe, don't you worry about a thing!

I'll be back before you know it.

Lots of love,

Adam
